About peace under pressure

The Challenge UCC §9-609 allows self-help repossession "without breach of the peace," but the term is undefined—leaving courts to decide case-by-case. The same facts produce different outcomes. Agents face impossible pressure: recover fast, but safely. Lenders demand compliance, regulators scrutinize harm, and one escalation can end careers or trigger lawsuits.
The Solution Peace Under Pressure introduces the Peace Point System—a field-tested, numeric scoring model to assess and prevent breach-of-peace risk in real time:
  • +1 for private property entry
  • +1 for objection to entry
  • +1 for objection to repossession
  • +1 for Spotlight Conditions (e.g., secured barriers, authority presence)
  • +4 and automatic stop for violence/threats
Universal Rule: Two points = mandatory stop. This creates bright lines for agents, data for supervisors, and evidence for courts.
